PLOT PRINTING
Our t-shirts are printed with this technique. Plot printing is available as flock and flex printing. It is a printing technique where the design is cut from a coloured foil and then pressed onto the shirt under high heat. The printed colours have a slight shine to them and contrast extremely well with fabric.
Advantages: Tests have shown that the form and colour of the plot print barely change after 100 washes. It is made of a flexible and resilient material – even thin lines do not break. Flex is smooth and shines a bit like vinyl. A flock print has a velvety, fuzzy surface.
Disadvantages: A maximum of 3 colours is allowed. The design must be created in a vector graphic program like Illustrator.
DIGITAL PRINTING
Digital printing is the ideal printing technique for photos and colourful designs which have gradients. The design is first printed onto a transfer paper before it is pressed onto the shirt (digital transfer) or sprayed directly onto the apparel (digital direct).
Advantages: Allows an unlimited number of colours and gradients. The design is a pixel graphic.
Disadvantages: This printing technique does not last as long as plot printing. The colours fade over time.
